North Side of the Entrance

Art at ArcheanWeb: Part of the Columbia River Gorge Series

The entrance to the Columbia River Gorge, on the west side of the Cascade Mountains, is a fabulous bit of natural beauty. The River forms a winding boundary between Oregon and Washington as it slices through the high peaks of the Cascade mountains. This waterway connects America’s western interior to the Pacific Coast.

The artwork “North Side of the Entrance” tracks mountain cliffs along the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. The viewer gazes eastward following a string of fading mountain peaks set against a morning sky.
