Art in Mountains and Streams

The Mountains and Streams Series

There are reasons why landscape paintings and artwork are popular. Nature has a way of creating its own combinations of color and form that blend together life, water, geology, and motion. The dynamic way these components combine produces a certain beauty and grace.

Mountains rise and over millions of years, flowing water levels them back to the ground. This geologically dynamic process allows water, rock and the biosphere to interact in unique and unexpected ways. These interactions form the basis for the Mountains and Streams Series

The Isle of Skye lies off the west coast of Scotland. It is the northernmost of the major islands of the Inner Hebrides. Skye is known for its temperamental weather, ocean fogs, and abundant rainfall, but the sun does occasionally shine. Skye View captures the island’s mountains on one of these sunny days. The original acrylic on canvas painting is digitally reworked into a flowing array of color and form.
